Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Volcanoes National park
Upon your arrival at Kigali international airport, our driver-guide will pick you up and drive you through Kigali city. Visit different tourist spots in Kigali city such as Kigali genocide memorial center, Kigali Convention center, art galleries, and local markets. Thereafter, proceed northwestwards to Volcanoes National park, home to the highest population of mountain gorillas in the Virunga conservation area. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge/ Da Vinci gorilla lodge.

Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking & Iby’iwacu community village
Today you wake up early, have breakfast and with your packed lunch drive to Kinigi Park headquarters for registration and pre gorilla trekking briefing. You will be allocated a gorilla family in your group of eight and at 8:00 am, hiking starts. The trek through the bamboo forest is strenuous but enjoyable at the same time giving you a fresh feeling of the natural forest. On meeting the gorillas, spend an hour in their company, take photos, capture videos and embrace the human-like social behaviors of the endangered species. In the evening, visit the Iby’iwacu cultural village to learn about the traditions, norms, and beliefs of Rwanda. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge/ Da Vinci gorilla lodge.

Day 3: Dian Fossey hike/golden monkey trekking
Wake up early, have breakfast and transfer to kinigi park headquarters for registration and briefing. Thereafter, embark hike to the graveyard of Dian Fossey, an American primatologist who lost her life to save mountain gorillas in the Virunga Massif. Alternatively, go golden monkey trekking to enjoy the playful characters of these endangered species rewarding you with a memorable experience. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge/ Da Vinci gorilla lodge.

Day 4: Departure
Having had breakfast, check out and drive to Kigali for your return flight
