Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Pickup from Kigali international airport and drive northwestwards to Volcanoes National Park. The drive time from Kigali to Volcanoes is roughy3 hours with scenic views of Rwanda’s rolling hills. Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain gorilla View Lodge/ Davinci Lodge

Day 2: Gorilla trekking & community visits
Wake up early, have breakfast and with your packed lunch transfer to Kinigi park headquarters for registration and a pre gorilla trekking briefing. You will be put in a group of eight and allocated a gorilla family to visit. At 8:00 am embark on a trek to meet the endangered gorillas. The hike is strenuous, lasting for between 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. After meeting the gorillas, keep a distance of seven meters, keep calm and enjoy this magical encounter. Observe how adult mothers feed their babies just like human mothers. In the evening if tie allows, visit the local communities for a cultural performance. Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain gorilla View Lodge/ Davinci Lodge

Day 3: Transfer to Akagera National Park
After breakfast, check out and drive eastern wards to Akagera National Park. The drive time from Volcanoes Park to Akagera is roughly 5 hours via the rolling hills and local communities of Rwanda. Dinner and overnight stay at Akagera Game Lodge, Ruzizi Tented Camp

Day 4: Game viewing & boat cruise at Lake Ihema
In the early morning, drive to the open savannahs for morning game drives to catch-up with early risers feeding and hunting in the park. Akagera national Park is home to the “big five” game and numerous other animals. Game drives through the park offers you great views of wild animals such as Elephants, Buffalos, Lions, Zebras, Rhinos, Hippos, Giraffes, Impalas, Cape elands, Roan Antelopes, bushbuck, Topis, Leopards, waterbucks and Oribis among others. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and wait for hot lunch. In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise at Lake Ihema for bird watching and enjoy cool breezes. Dinner and overnight stay at Akagera Game Lodge, Ruzizi Tented Camp

Day 5: Departure
Have a cup coffee, check out and transfer to Kigali Airport for your return flight
