Detailed Itinerary
Early in the morning, our company representative (your driver-guide) will pick you up from Entebbe international airport of your hotel in Kampala and drive north-westwards to Nakasongola district. The drive time is roughly 3 hours via Kampala Masindi highway. On reaching Zziwa sanctuary, gather at the head office for registration and briefing on the dos and don’ts of rhino tracking. Thereafter, embark on a trek to meet the endangered rhinos. Trekking is not so strenuous though it requires some physical fitness. Trekking time before meeting the rhinos can last for up to three hours but you spend strictly an hour in the presence of rhinos. On reaching them stay calm, keep a distance and watch closely how they feed, interact and live in general. Hold your cameras tight to capture the best shots of rhinos in their natural habitats for remembrance. The trek also offers you chance to see numerous birds and other wildlife species in this sanctuary. You will thereafter hike back to the starting point, meet your driver-guide and transfer back to Kampala for your connecting flight.
