Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Goma

Today, our driver-guide will pick you from your hotel in Kigali or Kigali international airport and transfer to Goma via Gisenyi. Stop in Gisenyi to have some fun on the shores of Lake Kivu and thereafter cross to Goma for dinner and overnight stay at Mikeno Lodge.

Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking

Wake up early, have a cup of coffee and with your packed lunch drive to Virunga park headquarters for registration and briefing about the dos and don’ ts of gorilla trekking. At 8:00 am, start off a hike to trek mountain gorillas in this jingle forest. Hiking time may be short or long depending on where gorillas will be but you are 99.9% assured of meeting them. Spend an hour in the company of the gorillas, embrace their human-like characters, take pictures ad enjoy this lasting experience.  Dinner and overnight stay at Mikeno Lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Kahuzi Biega

After the morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive south-westwards to Kahuzi Biega National park home to the famous  Eastern Lowland Gorillas. Enjoy this scenic drive through plantations, fas and local towns making your trip more enjoyable. Dinner and overnight  at Mount Khuzi Hotel/ Orchids Safari Club

Day 4: Eastern Lowland gorilla trekking

Today you wake up early, have a cup of coffee and with your packed lunch drive to the park headquarters for registration and briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. At 8:00 am, start the trek to meet eastern lowland gorillas, the largest gorilla species in the world. Enjoy the company of these gentle giants, observe their human-like characters and have fun. Dinner and overnight stay at Mount Khuzi Hotel/ Orchids Safari Club

Day 5: Depart to Kigali Rwanda

After morning breakfast, check out and transfer back to Kigali to catch up with your connecting flight.
