Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After reaching Kigali international airport, meet your driver-guide from Superfine Safaris and transfer to Volcanoes National park. Enjoy a peaceful drive northwestwards through the beautiful city of Kigali overlooking the rolling a thousand hills of Rwanda. Dinner and overnight at Mountain gorilla view lodge/ Da Vinci Gorilla Lodge.
Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking & cultural tour
Wake up early, have breakfast and with your packed lunch transfer to kinigi park headquarters for registration and briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. You will be put together in groups of eight and allocated a gorilla family to trek. The trek to see gorillas starts at 8:00 am taking as short as 30 minutes or longer as 7 hours depending on where your gorilla family will be located that day. Spend an hour with gorillas, learn their behaviors, take pictures and enjoy their company. In the evening, visit the iby’iwacu community villages for a cultural performance. Dinner and overnight at Mountain gorilla view lodge/ Da Vinci Gorilla Lodge.
Day 3: Golden monkey trekking & Departure
After an early morning cup of coffee, drive to Kinigi park headquarters for briefing about golden monkey trekking. Thereafter embark on a trek to meet these playful creatures in the jungles of Volcanoes National park. Thereafter, hike back, meet your driver-guide and transfer to Kigali airport for your return flight.
